Final Project: Object Exploration / Semiotics through Type + Image This design was completed in my Communcation Design I Studio at the College for Creative Studies.
The Brief: asked to conduct in-depth research to prepare for and ultimately select an object to explore visually and contextually. Scope included that the format of object exhibition be presented by:
Exploring its meaning (semiotic study)
Research and write copy
High fidelity photography
Combining into a cohesive set of prints
Designer’s Interpretation: As I was studying semiotic meaning and object literalism, I brought life to an incredible piece that was handed down to me. Not only did this work have a plethora of information revealed through research, but the sentimental value I gained through its exploration informed the final exhibition in a way that I never expected.
